Revenue
Valuation & Fundamentals
The total amount a company takes in from its main business, selling goods and services, over a period; it is reported net of returns and discounts, which is why it is also called net sales.
It is the first line of the income statement, before any costs are subtracted. Revenue growth reflects demand, while how much of it is left over reflects profitability, and the two are read together.
