Anthropic Files for IPO With $16.3B in First-Half Revenue
Monday, October 26, Regular-Session CloseAll four indices rose; the strongest move was Nasdaq 100, + 1.11%.
- Nasdaq 100+ 1.11%
- S&P 500+ 0.71%
- Dow Jones+ 0.31%
- Russell 2000+ 0.45%
Anthropic filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday for a Nasdaq IPO; the shares will trade under the ticker ANT. The filing shows $16.3B in revenue for the first half of 2026, up from $1.16B a year earlier. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are leading the offering.
The net loss for the same period was $80.7B, but $72.4B of it is a non-cash charge from revaluing convertible notes and derivatives. The operating loss narrowed to $693M from $2.1B a year earlier, and the company booked $974M in operating income in the second quarter. The market read this as a demand story, not a loss story.
On Monday the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.82% to close at 26,169.38, led by chip stocks. Anthropic spent about $8.95B on computing and infrastructure in the first half, up from $2.33B a year earlier. That spending flows straight into the revenue lines of Nvidia, Broadcom and the memory makers.
Today's new development came from Nvidia. The company will invest $3B in Meta's equity offering and expand their partnership on Meta's Muse AI models. In the first tranche Meta is selling $22.5B in common stock and $12.5B in mandatory convertible preferred stock.

The Fed will set the tone for the rest of the week. The rate decision comes tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. ET (9:00 p.m. in Istanbul), followed by the chair's press conference at 2:30 p.m. Markets expect rates to stay at 3.75-4.00%. Microsoft reports after tomorrow's close and Alphabet and Amazon on Thursday; core PCE is due Thursday at 8:30 a.m. ET (3:30 p.m. in Istanbul).
Only one line matters today: Visa's revenue after the close. A print above the $12.33B estimate would show consumer spending holding up one day before the Fed decision.
