Liquidity

Market Mechanics

Liquidity is how quickly and easily an asset can be bought or sold without moving its price much.

A liquid stock has many buyers and sellers at any moment, a tight spread, and large orders barely shift the price. In an illiquid stock it is harder to trade at the price you want, and even small orders can move the price noticeably.
