Support Level

Technical Analysis

A support level is a price zone where declines have stopped several times in the past and buyers stepped in.

It is more accurate to think of it as a range than a single exact number. Traders watch whether price reacts again as it approaches that zone. When support breaks, meaning price moves clearly below it, the zone conventionally tends to act as resistance afterward; that is a common tendency, not a rule.
